The Wet and Wild series, launched in 1989, features Playmates in various liquid environments, such as pools, bathtubs, hot tubs, saunas, fountains, water beds, milk, champagne, beer, massage oil, glycerine, chocolate . Playboy produced a total of ten videos in the Wet & Wild series.
Wet and Wild IV, released in 1992, has garnered some notoriety for a scene that allegedly depicts February 1992 Playmate Tanya Beyer taking part in simulated sex, which would have been a departure for Playboy videos at the time. However, the scene only shows Beyer and her male co-star kissing and mildly fondling each other. (One shot suggests the actor was directed to avoid touching her breasts.) Although Beyer is featured fully nude elsewhere in the vignette, she is only topless in her shots with the actor, and there is no shot in which one can infer that their characters are engaged in intercourse. Scenes of Playmates engaging in simulated sex did not begin appearing in Playboy videos until 1993, starting with Wet and Wild V. That title included a vignette showing an actor having simulated intercourse with both September 1991 Playmate Samantha Dorman and December 1990 Playmate Morgan Fox.
